If you have never had the opportunity to visit Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, this could be the perfect day outing for you.
The Entrance Fee to the park is only $20 per vehicle (with 16 or fewer passengers) per day. You can purchase this pass online as well as an annual pass if you are planning multiple trips. Since the park is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, you might find yourself here more than you think.
Whenever you venture out to the Park, be sure to wear shoes suitable for hiking, bring sunscreen and bring water. The altitude at some of the peaks can reach 14,000 feet above sea level.
If photography is one of your hobbies, you will be on scenic overload with all of the wildlife, wildflowers and water settings.
As you enter into the park, look for the various Visitor Centers throughout.
Beaver Meadows Visitor Center
Alpine Visitor Center
Fall River Visitor Center
Kawuneeche Visitor Center
Moraine Park Discovery Center
Sheep Lakes Information Center
Holzwarth Historic Site
The Park employees will be happy to share information about the park and what areas you won't want to miss in any given location.
Be sure to visit the Rocky Mountain National Park website and download one (or all) of the very intuitive Trail Maps and informational flyers before you venture out.
